Understanding the Third Party Funder Locator
The Third Party Funder tool will help you find a third party funder and view associated disputes, organization and countries in relation to it. Through the faceted search and filters, you can use various parameters to narrow down the type of third party funder you are looking for.
The main locator page contains a search bar where you can search third party funders, and you can also view the most recently added funders to ISLG.
Searching for a third party funder
The search bar within the Third Party Funder Locator tool allows you to search by the ‘Organization Name’ by default. Without changing any settings, you can simply type the organization/funder you are looking for by name and select ‘Search’. By clicking on ‘Organization Name’ dropdown, you can also access other ways to search by keyword.
Search Options
- Organization Name: This filter allows you to find third party funders by their organization or company name.
- Claimant (Dispute): This filter allows you to find third party funders that have been related to a specific case or dispute.
- Dispute Status: This allows you to filter third party funders who are related to cases that are either pending or concluded.
- Respondent State: This allows you to filter third party funders who are related to cases that have a specific respondent state.
View all third party funders
If you prefer to browse as opposed to search, you can also select the option to ‘View all Third Party Funders’ to see a complete list of all companies and organizations in ISLG that are publicly-known third party funders. This list can be further filtered and refined by search parameters as well.
Refining Your Search
Once you have made a search, or are viewing the list of funders, the list can be refined further by using the ‘Filter Results’ button. When you click, it will open a pop-up that contains filter categories that you can use to narrow the list down:
- Dispute
- Dispute Status
- Respondent State
These filters will narrow the list of third party funders by the dispute/case, status or respondent State related to the dispute the funder has been associated with. Once you have selected your desired filters, you can click ‘Filter Search’ to see the list filtered by your selected parameters.
Third Party Funder Details
Once you find the third party funder you are searching for, you can simply click the name to be taken to a page that contains an overview of the organization and detailed reports about their relationships to cases, other people, countries and more.
Chart overview
The top of the page will show key numbers related to the funder that was selected. Firstly, you will see the number of disputes associated with that third party funder. By clicking the arrow to the right, you will see the number of people that are associated with that organization. Both numbers can be selected, and will lead to a detailed list of the disputes or people associated with the organization.
In order to save the third party funder to view at a later time, select the ‘Actions’ menu at the top right of the page. Once clicked, there will be an option to add the organization to the Research Notepad to run for later use.
